Cultural Linkages Program

Alternate Care has developed a cultural links program, encompassing educational resources and community involvement to ensure that cultural links between indigenous children and young people are maintained and strengthened.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children/young people or adult/s with an intellectual or cognitive disability have a fundamental right to experience, connect and learn about their own cultural heritage. Learning first-hand from Indigenous peoples, especially children’s own families is the preferred model.
